Matt has over 35 years of E&P experience with a successful track record of discovering major plays and was involved in numerous Austin Chalk discoveries: Double-A Wells North, Magnolia, and Beech Grove Fields.
Matt’s operating company, Border to Border Exploration, LLC, has drilled over 60 wells in the Woodbine and Austin Chalk trend in Polk, Tyler and Jasper Counties in Texas. Matt built his operating company to be in the top 40 private producers in the US, drilled over 1,000,000 feet of vertical and horizontal wellbores, and operated over 16,000 BOE per day.  He was a finalist for TIPRO’s (Texas Independent Producers & Royalty Owners Association) Top Texas CEO of large oil companies in 2014.
Matt holds a B.S. Degree in Geology and has completed Masters Degree coursework at SUNY Binghamton University, where he is a Distinguished Alumnus.  He is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and was a Distinguished Lecturer in 2012.  Matt is a registered Professional Geologist in Texas and Wyoming.



COO & President

A second generation oil and gas professional, David has over 27 years of E&P experience with a strong history of field optimization, operations, and acquisitions throughout many basins with his emphasis in East Texas and the Upper Gulf Coast.
In 2003, David established Martineau Petroleum, Inc., operating 400 wells in Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Before founding Martineau Petroleum he worked at Kerr-McGee(Oryx), as a production engineer overseeing water floods in North-Central Texas and gas properties on the Texas gulf coast. He also sat on the A&D and EHS teams.
Active in professional associations: David is a member of SPE, SIPES, TIPRO, and The Texas Alliance. He sits on the University of Texas, Jackson School of Geosciences advisory board. David was named a “Rising Star” in the energy sector by D-CEO Magazine.  Also, the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers presented him with the ‘Today’s Leader” award.
David holds a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering from the University of Mississippi and a Master of Science degree in Geology from the University of Texas.

Senior Asset Manager

Blake joined the team in May of 2008 with a BS in Geology from Jackson School of Geosciences, The University of Texas at Austin. He is in charge of oversight of Austin Chalk, Woodbine, and Eagle Ford drilling programs. Blake oversees the management of producing assets, daily operations, and associated field personnel.

Senior Drilling Manager

George joined the team in April 2019 with a BS in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, with Business Foundations. He is responsible for the planning, engineering, and execution of development prospects. Prior to Eagle Valley, George spent six years with Occidental Petroleum focused on Drilling Operations, and seven years within Statoil/Equinor within Drilling Operations, Field Development, and Reservoir Engineering.

Senior VP of Acquisitions

John joined the team in 2009 with a BS in Geology from Jackson School of Geosciences, University of Texas. He oversees all data evaluation and economic model analysis for pertinent acquisition candidates.

Land Manager

Brent has dedicated the vast majority of his professional career to Land Management and Asset Development. Prior to the formation of Eagle Valley Energy, he served as Senior Landman for BBX Operating, LLC & Border to Border Exploration under the direction of Matthew Telfer. In that capacity, he was responsible for
Leasing, Contract Negotiations, Title Diligence, GIS and Land Operations. 
Mr. Cantalope graduated from South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resource Management.

Land Manager

Bill joined the team in 2019 with a BBA in Petroleum Land Management and General Business from Texas Tech University.  He is a Certified Professional Landman with over 27 years' exploration and production land experience in support of conventional and unconventional resource plays in most significant basins throughout the U.S. Lower 48.  Before joining Eagle Valley, Bill held various positions with increasing responsibility at Parsley Energy, Concho Resources, Pioneer Natural Resources, and Marathon Oil Company.

Thomas comes to the team as a graduate of Texas Christian University in 2016 with a B.S. in Economics with Energy Technology & Management minor. Before joining Eagle Valley, Thomas worked for a year as a field land man, running title and leasing with a small group in the Central Texas' Giddings play.  Within a year the group put together over a 12,000 acre project, which was subsequently acquired by Eagle Valley Energy. Thomas now oversees prospect leasing and mapping
in South and Central Texas.

Jake joined the team in 2011 with a BS in Geology from St. Norbert College, his MS in Geology, and a certificate in GIS from Florida Atlantic University. His research has been presented at the 11th International Coastal Symposium in Poland and published in the Journal of Coastal Research

 Adam joined the team in 2020 with a BBA in Accounting from Texas State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant with over 20 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting. Before joining Eagle Valley, Adam held various positions with increasing responsibility at Luxe Energy and Luxe Minerals, Equinor, Brigham Exploration Company, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
